The Apprentice stars get their hands dirty!

Love it or loathe it, cleaning is an essential part of day to day life. Something that The Apprentice candidates failed to realise in their latest task - where they definitely didn’t clean up in the boardroom!

The task set was to take a cleaning product – then brand it and produce an advert – so the teams donned their rubber gloves and got straight to work!

Both groups didn’t fare too well and failed to please Lord Sugar, who, after a tough boardroom battle eventually gave team leader Alex Epstein the chop.

As the cleaning experts, we certainly don’t need advice form The Apprentice stars on cleaning! In fact, we’ve put together six fun, clever cleaning tips to show that you don’t need to be an octopus to get the housework done!

1. Prepare your cleaning tools beforehand – to include your SuperMocio and bucket, cloths, sponges and disinfectant spray.

2. Have a cleaning schedule in mind. Perhaps begin in the bedrooms and work your way around the house.

3. Clear away any unnecessary clutter – collect it into one box before the cleaning begins so there’s nothing to stop you!

4. Empty the bins in every room – this will get rid of any nasty smells - an easy job that makes a big visual difference

5. Dust your room regularly to reduce the build up of dust and the effort involved – try the Vileda Soft Dust Cloth for great dust pick-up!

6. Finally, put some cleaning music on and get the family involved! Cleaning needn’t be boring so convert a chore into a fun filled activity!
