5 Top Tips To A Clutter Free Home This 2011

With the New Year comes a new you, but what about your home? Start 2011 as you mean to go on and ensure that you’re equipped with the right tools to make your job around the home easier! After all, no one wants to spend hours mopping, dusting and scrubbing when you could be spending time on the new you.

So why not follow our top tips to domestic bliss this 2011.

TOP TIP 1

Firstly, deal with clutter. This will make cleaning quicker and more straightforward.

TOP TIP 2

Be effective and efficient by mopping in the correct way. The best way to mop tiled floors (with a strip mop) is by using a figure of 8 motion. Why not try our new 3Action SuperMocio; the lemon shaped head can get right into those difficult corners, and the mop head can even be popped in the washing machine!

TOP TIP 3

Cut dusting time in half by using a microfibre duster such as our Soft Dust Cloth. These microfibres attract and attach dust to the cloth rather than spreading it around.

TOP TIP 4

As it’s a new year, why not create a fresh perspective by rearranging the furniture? Moving the furniture around can give you the motivation you need to clean the room out and get it looking like new.

TOP TIP 5

Spray surfaces first, allow the cleaning product to do its job for a couple of minutes and then wipe. Simple! Our great value All Purpose Cloths are ideal as they can be machine washed and used again, and again. And, with an RSP of only 99p they’re a bargain.

Start the pre-Christmas Clean

Christmas time is nearly upon is, which means the festivities will shortly begin. But before they do, here are a few preparations to get your home ready.

Freshen up – Before all the additional decorations come out of storage, now’s the time to de-clutter your house. Clear the surfaces of items that are normally on display – you can replace them with something more festive.

Prepare Guest Rooms – If you have friends and relatives over to stay during Christmas, make sure they have a nice clean room to stay in. Thoroughly wash down all surfaces, clean the windows and change the bed sheets. Make sure you give the floor a good going over too.

Make your Glasses Sparkle – There’s nothing more embarrassing than serving a drink in a dusty glass, or worse still discovering lipstick smears around the rim. Get all your fancy glassware out of the cupboards and give them a deep clean and polish to a shine.

But don’t put your feet up yet, there’s still lots of fun Christmas preparations to do… putting up the tree, hanging your cards, even cooking the Christmas day dinner!

CLEANING TIP FOR NOVEMBER

Time to freshen up!

It’s the time of year when you need to keep on top of all your jobs so that the house doesn’t need another major clean before Christmas.

If you have a dining room, this is the time to open the door, dust and vacuum. Don’t waste time by doing more than is needed. Freshen up with some flowers and ensure it is aired and smelling fresh.

Oh Come All Ye Recyclers

Don’t be a waster this Christmas – there are plenty of opportunities to do your bit for the environment over the festive period by recycling your waste.

Remember:

Once you’ve opened your presents, recycle the wrapping paper.

Recycle the Christmas tree - check with you local council to see if they offer a free tree-recycling service.

If you’ve been entertaining guests, recycle all the empty glass bottles.

When you take down your Christmas cards, these can be recycled too.

Use Vileda’s Naturals range of cloths for a greener clean as they are made from 100% renewable resources.

Did you know that you can put all Vileda cloths in the washing machine and wash at up to 60 degrees? This means you don’t have to throw them away!
